Powering Change:

How Global Partnerships Can Accelerate Community-Driven Energy Access

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025
9:00-11:00 am EST
1 Pennsylvania Plaza, 4th Floor (WSP Office)
New York, NY 10119

Join us during New York Climate Week for a dynamic, interactive discussion of how large and midsize companies can center community-led energy solutions to drive climate action. Through real-world examples and dialogue, we’ll highlight how corporate resources and partnerships can amplify these solutions, accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy, and create meaningful impact where it’s needed most.

To illustrate these concepts, we’ll highlight the Sabah Renewable Energy Rural Electrification Roadmap (SabahRE2)—a grassroots-driven initiative to bring renewable energy access to rural and Indigenous communities in Malaysian Borneo. Through a partnership between local leaders, global companies, philanthropy, and international NGOs, the Sabah Roadmap is proving that when corporate climate action is directed with purpose, we can ignite transformative change.

This two-hour event will feature community voices, insights from corporate and nonprofit partners, and a short visual storytelling segment. Hosted by Green Empowerment, TONIBUNG, the Public Interest Registry (PIR), and WSP, this event is designed to inspire new collaborations and amplify a replicable model for energy justice.
