Farewell, Elise!

Written by Executive Director, Andrea Johnson

It is with mixed emotions that Green Empowerment says farewell to Elise Kittrell, our Technical Manager and Peru and Bolivia Program Lead. Elise will be taking on an exciting new role as an Environmental Engineer at PBS Environmental and Engineering. In this new role, Elise will take her experiences and utilize them at the local level throughout Oregon and Washington, focusing on a larger portfolio and management role.

Since Elise joined our organization, she has been a valuable member of our team. She greatly improved our water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) toolkits, including design and training materials, and helped institutionalize our water quality standards. Her work and contributions, including the extended hours of dedication and travel to our program countries and engagement with our partners, are greatly honored.

While it is difficult to say goodbye, it is also exciting to see someone learn and grow at Green Empowerment and be positioned for this type of opportunity. Plus, Elise is a part of the Green Empowerment family and has joined our Technical Advisory Committee to ensure that our organization continues to grow and learn from her expertise working at the intersection of engineering and rural community development.

Please join us all in wishing Elise all of the best in this next adventure!
